Converting 400 MTD MSW to Compost Using Aerobic Digestion

Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh | By Hari Bhari Waste Management Volarisation Pvt. Ltf.

Saves 360 Metric Tonnes of CO2 Every Day

India generates approximately 170,338 metric tonnes of solid waste daily, totaling over 62 million tonnes annually. However, only about 50% of this waste is treated, leaving the rest unmanaged—leading to disease outbreaks, air and water pollution, and environmental damage.

Hari Bhari Waste Valorization India Pvt. Ltd. is a leading provider of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) management solutions in India.

At its Compost Plant in Moradabad, the project developer processes around 400 metric tonnes of fresh MSW daily from the city’s municipal limits. Using an aerobic digestion process, this waste is converted into nutrient-rich compost. The facility produces approximately 20,000 metric tonnes of compost annually, benefiting farmers cultivating around 20,000 acres near the processing plants.

To further promote sustainable waste management and soil health, Hari Bhari is distributing its compost free of cost to 5,000 farmers within a 10-kilometer radius of the Moradabad plant.
